In today’s Era there are only few institutes that are working towards development of the sports and sports culture in India, among which Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Samiti’s Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul is one of the best institute which is working towards the development of the sports
Dr. Ramesh. Yashaswant.Prabhoo (Ex. Mayor, Ex. MLA, Mumbai) the Founder member president of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Samiti with the help of other trustees established the Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul in the year 1997. Dr. Ramesh.Yashaswant. Prabhoo Sir became the 1st president of the club. Hence the journey of creating champions started.
The Sports Club comprises of an Olympic Standard Swimming Pool, International Standard 10m. Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shooting Range, Gymnasium, Gymnastics, Judo, Taekwondo, Artistic Gymnastic, Diving. Turf for football and Cricket, and many other recreational activities and a Sports Recovery Center.
History
Shooting Range was started in the year 1998, but due to lack of awareness of shooting game the numbers of shooters were very less. In the year 2015 the shooting range was renovated. And Jitesh Kadam and Snehal Kadam were appointed as the coaches and range In Charge. They both are National Rifle Association India (NRAI) certified Trainers and International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) certified Coaches. They got their certification from Japan. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Samiti's Prabodhankar Thackeray Shooting Range is one of the best shooting ranges in Maharashtra. It is fully air conditioned and also has sound proof walls. The main attraction of the shooting range is its International level interior and Electronic targets, the shooting range comprises of 10 lanes among which 4 are electronic targets and rest is manual pulley targets. All these changes were made in 2015. Before that the shooting range was not that well equipped.

Ananta - The Light
What does Ananta mean?
Ananta is one of the many names of Lord Vishnu and it means Limitless or Infinite.
The Shankh which represents Lord Vishnu is depicted as the ‘Jyoti’ of a mud lamp or a Diya. A simple lamp can illuminate the entire room and can lighten up numerous other lamps. In the same way, a teacher can lighten up the minds of infinite number of students with their flame of knowledge.
